MISSION
Our mission is to teach student-athletes to compete at the highest level while striving to become lifetime learners, on and off the court. We are committed to developing young men mentally and emotionally into men of character, outstanding mature citizens, and leaders through character development and leadership training.
We strive to develop a strong family environment within our organization and community, where every student-athlete is supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

We will promote the power of amateur basketball by instilling the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, character, and the drive for academic excellence in our Nation’s young people. Through basketball, education, and leadership, we seek to prepare student-athletes not only to succeed on the court, but to become responsible, confident, and contributing members of their communities.

March 21, 2026, marks the 20th anniversary of Scholars Basketball. For 2 decades, Scholars Basketball Academy has stood as a shining example of academic and athletic excellence. Reaching this milestone is a testament to the dedication of your hard work, your passion and your commitment as well as your determination as student-athletes. Over the past 20 years, SCHOLARS has not just built strong minds and bodies, but also strong character - instilling values of discipline, teamwork, integrity and perseverance. Your commitment to excellence both on and off the court continues to inspire your community and set a standard for others to follow. May this 20th anniversary be a celebration of all you have accomplished and a launchpad for even greater success in the years ahead. Thank you all for being part of this journey with me! ~ Coach "J" Bumagat

Developing the next generation of athletes through advanced skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and character—preparing young players to compete, lead, and grow in the classroom and on the court.
The foundation of our academy, where young talent is Focused on fundamentals, teamwork, character, and confidence, this stage helps student-athletes develop basketball skills, basketball IQ, discipline, and leadership while learning to compete and grow on and off the court.

NOTE: This website is designed strictly for the members of our organization.  Our organization DOES NOT recruit, nor do we take players from other teams.  We are not an organization that makes promises that we cannot keep... such as making promises to get scholarships to attend college to play ball.  However, many of our athletes have gone on to play at the college level.  Under the leadership and instruction of Coach "J" Bumagat, our main focus is to teach our student-athletes life lessons and get them to understand the importance of an education.  We do travel but we do not feel the need to travel and spend outrageous amounts of money to play for any National titles.  Our students play and they play hard no matter where we go!  Our organization is extremely family oriented and is celebrating 10+  years of ACADEMIC and ATHLETIC excellence.
